Assignments

His first assignment was in the Jagst River Valley in the city of Ellwangen, Germany with Elder Middleton. After he broke his leg and ankle on July 18th he was hospitalized for 10 days and then he returned home to recover. He served one transfer in the Albuquerque NM Mission from January 4 - February 15, 2010 and served on the Navajo Reservation with Elder Lee.

He returned to Zurich on February 16, 2010. His first assignment was to serve with Elder King in Offenburg, Germany. The city is located in the Kinzig River Valley and adjacent to the Black Forest. The nearest large town is Strasbourg, France. He then served in a companionship with Elders Baird and Vaniturt in Offenburg.
On June 24th he was called to serve in Heilbronn with Elder Aeschbacher, who is from Switzerland. He is excited to serve with a native German speaker and hopes this will help him improve his language skills. On August 18, 2010 he was transferred to the city of Tubingen and called to be a companion with Elder Mildon.

Broken Ankle

Mom's Note:

Elder Hargett fell and broke his ankle and is currently in the hospital in Ellwangen. The break was bad enough that they needed to do surgery and put in steel rods on each side of his ankle and temporary screws to hold them together. They will be keeping him in the hospital for 12 days and then removing one of the screws. After he is released he will come home to recover and do physical therapy. We expect it to take 3 months for him to completely heal.

The good news is that the hospital is right across the street from their apartment and so when Jeff fell, he didn't have far to go for treatment. Also, we were able to speak with the surgeon after his surgery, who assured us that he was doing well and should be able to bear weight on the ankle within six weeks. We have spoken with Jeff a couple of times, his spirits are very good and he is determined to get back to work as quickly as he can.

Please keep him in your prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

  1. this is Jeff Hargett I just want to say that I am fine and I actually broke my leg and ankle just to make myself look cooler. Also the hospital is boring and I don't want to be here anymore but if you want send me an email at vamp_v2@myldsmail.net and I will be able to read it and probably respond now that I have nothing to do.
