Assignments

His first assignment was in the Jagst River Valley in the city of Ellwangen, Germany with Elder Middleton. After he broke his leg and ankle on July 18th he was hospitalized for 10 days and then he returned home to recover. He served one transfer in the Albuquerque NM Mission from January 4 - February 15, 2010 and served on the Navajo Reservation with Elder Lee.

He returned to Zurich on February 16, 2010. His first assignment was to serve with Elder King in Offenburg, Germany. The city is located in the Kinzig River Valley and adjacent to the Black Forest. The nearest large town is Strasbourg, France. He then served in a companionship with Elders Baird and Vaniturt in Offenburg.
On June 24th he was called to serve in Heilbronn with Elder Aeschbacher, who is from Switzerland. He is excited to serve with a native German speaker and hopes this will help him improve his language skills. On August 18, 2010 he was transferred to the city of Tubingen and called to be a companion with Elder Mildon.

Happy 4th of July

this week was pretty exciting as always. The one problem this week though was that all together I averaged about 4-5 hours of sleep a night. I have trouble sleeping in the heat coming from our room and since we have no form of air conditioning I spent most of the night tossing and turning. Other than that though we were able to meet with each of our investigators at least once this week and we found two more investigators.
On thursday we had about three service assignments too. We helped an investigator, a less active, and a member. It was pretty busy but it was still fun. On friday we met a man who owns a pub but does not drink or smoke. He likes to talk about religion and play chess so we played some chess with him and talked about religion.
On saturday we went to Crailsheim. The city northest in the mission. We had never been there. After being there for two hours though we had been let in three times and met a woman about 25 who we were able to talk to. She loved everthing we told her and told us she believed that the book of mormon was true just from the feeling she was getting from it. And she is not crazy which is awesome cause a lot of crazy people tend to be the ones that talk to us.
Then on Sunday our three investigators that usually come were there. They are Emmanuel, frau Loske who we have been meeting with for a while and invited to baptism and her boyfriend.
Tomorrow we are meeting an indian family who has wanted to talk to us for a long time now. Today we are teaching a woman at 2 and will meet with some members at 5 and we will buy food after this. We buy some pork steaks because it is 4 for 3 euro. I get this cerial which could not be sold in america cause it is too unhealthy. It has choclate filling in each one but tastes amazing. We get some chicken wings that are really good. Some fruit. Some pakets of cheeseburgers and hot dogs, some cola, and random other stuff. I eat more at every meal here than i had through the period of a whole day back home! but we are constantly moving so it evens out.
But yeah on thursday we ate at a members house. I had 3 steaks a whole plate of sides, three shishkabobs and a loaf of bread plus about a liter to drink. it is pretty good but there are some things that are most definetly better in America. Like beef. and american cheese, but one cool thing is that every meal is a course meal out here. We alway have salad, meal, and then a huge desert. I most defenitly get at least all my days worth of calories fats and everything else in one meal.
i did get an email from grant. He wrote me an email saying sorry he didn'T write me. He had bought a lot of international stamps and then forgot them at his last area. But then told me to give him my adress so he could write. i also hear from elder kunzler and leishman still, one missionary from our mission who just got home, and some from this mission.
Mom had asked about companion exchanges we do them twice a transfer. i will do one for the 15 of juli till the 16 of juli and that will be the last one for this transfer. We heard about Micheal Jackson dying it is huge news! the europeans for some reason love that dude. They had a parade for him in Zürich two days after he died. everyone loves obama too.
I got my wallet back, it didn't have any of the cash or credit cards in it. It did have my drivers license but that was all. Mom asked if my temple recommend was in it but I have that with me so it wasn't in my wallet.
For the fourth of July I drew an american flag, made my comp sing star spangled banner and pledge of allegiance and he had to speak with an american accent all day. He was a good sport about it, yeah he made me sing god save the queen. He didn't know the actual verses so he made stuff up but then he had to do all of that so it was pretty fun.
We did not have much else other than that. It was a good week but not much too entertaining. I hope everthing else is going great in everyones life. Bye.
