Assignments

His first assignment was in the Jagst River Valley in the city of Ellwangen, Germany with Elder Middleton. After he broke his leg and ankle on July 18th he was hospitalized for 10 days and then he returned home to recover. He served one transfer in the Albuquerque NM Mission from January 4 - February 15, 2010 and served on the Navajo Reservation with Elder Lee.

He returned to Zurich on February 16, 2010. His first assignment was to serve with Elder King in Offenburg, Germany. The city is located in the Kinzig River Valley and adjacent to the Black Forest. The nearest large town is Strasbourg, France. He then served in a companionship with Elders Baird and Vaniturt in Offenburg.
On June 24th he was called to serve in Heilbronn with Elder Aeschbacher, who is from Switzerland. He is excited to serve with a native German speaker and hopes this will help him improve his language skills. On August 18, 2010 he was transferred to the city of Tubingen and called to be a companion with Elder Mildon.

My Year Mark!

The year mark week! It did not honestly feel special in any way but still it is kind of cool. (except for the poster, thanks!) On Monday we visited the Dietle family, like always. And it was super fun and awesome, like always. On Tuesday we got to go to Waiblingen for district meeting. Since it was the last one of the transfer we watched a movie called 'The Greatest Gift' I think. Not positive about the title. Something about a guy learning not to be just a rich kid and getting what he wants all the time. We also visited sister Adam and sister Boger that day and they both prayed before we left which is awesome and is now no longer our huge goal with both of them, because they both had a bunch of fear from prayer earlier on. They are both awesome and sister Adam is no longer considered less active and is now put back as a fully active member on the ward list.
On Wedsnday we went by more investgators. A lot of people out here I have still never met. It is pretty crazy since we were not able to do much earlier since Elder Aeschbacher was always in pain. We didn't really meet anyone that was.... not crazy. But that is all good. We got to have an "ausstellung" where about 7 companionships came up here to Heilbronn and we had a street display and everyone talked to people on the street. We got a whole list of phone numbers and addresses of people that want us to come by. It was way cool to see everyone there for two hours talking to people and seeing a huge benefit of it. Now we have a good amount of people to try contacting this week and hopefully some good new investigators!
On Saturday night we got invited to eat ice cream at this place here in Heilbronn that everyone talks about. The family took us there and we all got ice cream here. (which costs about the same as a meal!) It was way good!. The family is extremely nice and even Middleton was there since he had been with them in Switzerland for the week before. We went around to a lot of members this week as well.
We went by our ward mission leader and talked to him about all the people here in Heilbronn that we meet with every week and who we would like to meet with still. He was way excited to hear all of our stories and what we want to do while we are here in Heilbronn. We even made up a spiritual thought while we were there using a magic trick that he really liked. He is such a cool guy. We went on splits with him later.
Elder Aeschbacher went with our ward mission leader and I went with a member who was less active named Peter. Me and Peter went by on a formal investigator the missionaries thaught years ago. It took about an hour to get out to the small city where he lived and then about another twenty minutes to find the street and house and it turns out he lives in a protestant church. The doorbell for him and his family was the same for the preacher (or priest not sure how protestants work exactly). We reluctantly rang it and no one answered. Was kind of relieved and sad at the same time. On our way home some excommunicated guy saw us and yelled to us about... something. No one could understand him.
After the exchange we went home cause Elder Aeschbacher wasn't feeling well again. It was the only day it happened this week though. We also met with Arisa the Nigerian refugee we have been teaching. He is still waiting for his time to elapse so he can get a job. We commited him to stop smoking. It is the only thing keeping him from bapitsm and it is a huge problem for him. He go way emotional and told us he did not want to do it yet. He wanted to wait a few months. It was all really depressing but we got him to promise us he would start the stop smoking workshop on Saturday and then go as long as he could. I dont think he did well cause he did not show up for church but he called us and we are meeting with him on Thursday still. I hope he gets everything together.
On Sunday we heard from Elder Middleton in church since he was visiting and also a guy named Elias we teach who lives in this internet cafe where we are writing our emails from. He is flying out to Thailand this week to get married to this lady he met online. She is a member too. I dont know how it will all work out. Kind of nervous for him as well.
After church we went by the family Lichtners house. Middleton was there as well and we got to eat some more great german food (Käsespetzle) which is cheese noodles... kinda, not a great translation but oh well. Brudder Lichtner drove us back home and we did our planning for the week. Then we got to today! I feel bad for my comp though cause he said he didnt sleep at all really last night and I slept wonderfully! I dreamed the whole night and remember it all. It was a great sleep. Well that was random but ok. Love you all and hope it stays awesome by all of you!
